What’s the Best Way to Whiten My Teeth?

whiten my teeth

A person’s smile is one of the first things you notice about them. Most everyone wants a bright, white, healthy smile! It’s like a mini makeover! But what’s the best way to whiten??? How do I know what’s best!?

Of course, you can always pick up a box of whitening strips or boil-and-bite trays over the counter, but sometimes those are not as effective because they are not professional grade materials. We have three options here at Chestnut Family Dentistry. Let me walk you through each option.

We offer whitening strips, which feature a professional grade whitening ingredient. These tend to work better than the over the counter strips you can buy at your local pharmacy or grocery store. You basically brush and floss well, apply the strip, and wear it for a few hours. Easy, right? You probably want to wear these several days in a row, as these results are gradual.

Now, if you want slightly better, more intense results, try our custom made trays. We bring you in and take impressions of your teeth, make models of your teeth in our lab and then fabricate custom trays that fit your teeth like a glove. These stay in place and do not move around like the strips can. You just apply a little bit of the whitening gel we give you to the inside of the tray (we’ll show you how!) and wear it about an hour each day. Again, you want to do this several days in a row, as these results are gradual. The nice thing about the tray option is, you have them for future touch up sessions! So if you are a coffee, tea or wine drinker, you may want to pop them in every six months after your cleanings to “touch up.”

Now if you are someone who says “I want it, and I want it NOW,” you probably would be happier with our in-office whitening option, ZOOM. This method offers “instant” results! You leave our office with a bright, white smile the same day. This is the perfect option if you are going to a special event, such as a wedding or reunion, and what a whiter smile without the wait!

Whatever option you choose, we can help you achieve the bright, white, beautiful smile you‘ve always wanted! Call or email us today!
