Here at Chestnut Family Dentistry, your health and wellbeing are our highest priority. While COVID-19 no longer holds pandemic status, it is still a prevalent disease and affects many people. Our dentists and team are committed to ensuring that our office is a clean and safe space for every person who visits. We have taken all precautions necessary to prevent or slow the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases.
We meet or exceed the extensive infection control and sterilization recommendations outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our infection control and safety measures include:
- Eye protection for patients and team members
- Gloves and face masks
- Disinfectant hand soap
- Chemical sterilization of countertops and surfaces
- Sterilization of all equipment before use
Dr. Wendy Willoughby, Dr. Teresa Bare and our team will always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit, and we encourage you to wear a face mask or other face covering to provide protection for yourself and others.
Additionally, all reusable equipment is sterilized after use, including handpieces. We use an autoclave to kill bacteria and viruses using steam, heat and pressure. When possible, our team uses disposable materials and tools to eliminate the risk of cross contamination through reuse.
If you have any questions about our policies for infection control and sterilization in Asheville, North Carolina, or to schedule an appointment with our experienced dentists, please contact our office at 828-255-0936.
